Hello Kitty!

While we have a few days left to visit the NYT site for free, let’s enjoy this interactive graphic showing that by the time the Paywall goes up, the West Coast might already go down.

I clicked on this entry expecting Maru. I am very disappointed, for the record.

Invitations from the Japanese Embassy to sign the condolence book – a standard feature of diplomatic protocol in moments of national grief – were printed with Hello Kitty backgrounds. Really.

@Nabisco: You wouldn’t, by chance, have a photo? Because posting that would mean an instant server crash.

@nojo: I’ll see if I can get my hands on it.

While there’s never a good time for a radioactive death cloud, let’s just say the timing now really sux.

Wait a minute. Was it not exactly this kind of radiation cloud that re-awakened Godzilla? Or was it Mothra?

@libertarian tool: GODZILLA JOKES!!!!!! FOR SHAME, LIBERTARIAN TOOL, FOR SHAME!!!!!

@Tommmcatt is with Karin Marie on This One:I am embarrassed and beg forgiveness from the commentariat. Mea Culpa. Godzilla jokes are so much more inappropriate than say… Hello Kitty jokes. I don’t know what I was thinking.

In any case I now think it was actually Megalon.

@libertarian tool: Hey – I heard an actual Japanese person make a glow-in-the-dark joke – in front of me -yesterday. We are all of us, sometimes, inappropriate.

@libertarian tool: It’s not the Godzilla joke. It’s the week-old Godzilla joke.

@nojo: I won’t apologize for being behind the curve. I live there.

@libertarian tool: “Living Behind the Curve” would make a good title for something or other.

@lynnlightfoot: It’s all yours. I already have an extensive library of unwritten book titles.

Never fear Nojo, if you get to a NYT article from a blog or Google, it doesn’t count to your 20-free-article-per-month total. Or so Gizmodo says.

We should have Manchu test that theory for us from Canada City a.k.a. Land of NYT Paid Access Beta 2.0.

@SanFranLefty: So, an RSS feed may be a workaround?

@SanFranLefty: The story I’m hearing is that it’s Google, Facebook or Twitter. And somebody’s already set up a Twitter account to link all NYT stories…

Wait. Whoa. They’re gonna start charging for that puke? Remind my why we need print media again? Fair weather and following seas, Old Gray Bitch.
