God, I loved her voice. So sweet, the perfect lilt and gorgeous medley with Peter and Paul. They always gave me chills, and she with that sweet voice that those of us who were the choir class rejects just listened to her in awe.
And the completely sincere, earnest belief in equality, helping others, stopping violence, that extended all the way to her death – I remember seeing her in NYC during the protests against the Republican convention, and she was still out there beating her drum against the Iraqi war in the rational, peaceful, non-Code Pink way.
St. Francis protect her. She was truly a gem, and for many years was a clear voice of protest and conscience.
