Watching last night’s Colbert and Daily Show on the 7 pm replay. The snippets of the speech I heard on the drive home were so pedantic to make Bill Clinton happy (new tablets for the schoolchildren) that I switched to listen to the nightly “Get the Led Out” of Led Zepplin songs on The Bone. (Yes that’s the name of the metal/hard rock station in SF).

Still, it’s catchier than telling 80% of Americans that this country no longer has anything to offer them, ’cause the Corporations and the 1% hoovered it all up. Whoops! How the hell did that happen? He couldn’t state the obvious, even if he wanted to. That little bit of truth-telling would make him the newest Zapruder film star.

Bush will be the last Republican president ever b /c the Repubs will fracture and implode like the Whigs 150 years ago. All I could think of w/r/t the question was, “No, Hillbot would be the last Republican president.” Sad when you miss the progressive politics of Dick Nixon.
