Although I mark Sarah Palin’s convention speech as the moment I gave up all hope in Our Generation, the fact is, I had seen it coming for decades. I just tried to ignore it until it was impossible not to.

@nojo: I have no faith in mine. Some say that things will be better (insofar as social issues go) after the older nutjobs are gone; unfortunately they’ve A) indoctrinated their children and/or B) their children are gullible.

Yes, we are overrun with wing nuts in Florida. Perhaps the tropical storm/hurricane Isaac will thin the herd. If he doesn’t get elected Sheriff he’d be welcome at The Villages (outside Orlando). The Tampa Times ran an article about this “Stepford” type retirement community about 2 weeks ago. Scarey!
