Serolf made the point elsewhere, but it bears repeating: Why should we wring our hands over this guy and not over the thousands of non-terrorists we’ve killed in attacks like this one just because this guy is an American?

I agree with you that it is problematic, but in context, shouldn’t the deaths of the innocent bother us more?

@Tommmcatt Be Fat, And That Be That: I don’t think it’s right that we kill thousands of non-terrorist non-citizens, but much like why the detainment of Jose Padilla meant something different than the detainment of everyone else at Gitmo, because he has American citizenship, it entitles him to better treatment by the American government than towards a non-citizen, and as with Padilla, it is a very bright line that has been crossed.

And there are a lot of Democrats out there that are struggling to defend Black Eagle on this, but how many of them would have been screeching if the summary execution had been ordered by President Bush or President Palin? There should be no double standard for Obama.

Preznalent Palin will embrace the assassination of AmeriKKKan citizens without charges or trials enthusiastically–no one can see how this could possibly be abused!
