TJ/Question: Will I lose my feminist street cred if I like “Possum Kingdom” by the Toadies? I just read the lyrics and saw the video for the first time, and I was like, “Whoa!” I can’t bring myself to buy it now. I went apoplectic over that Prodigy song; I was thrilled when the Beasties grew a conscience. Some of the lyrics to “Plush” are kind of questionable. Argh!

@JNOV: Haven’t heard of that one. Had a similar thing happen to me yesterday when for the first time ever I paid attention to the lyrics to “Cousin Dupree” by Aja/Steely Dan. Damn, that’s a gross skeevy song.

@JNOV: If true, I wouldn’t be surprised, although of course we’d need to hear more details. But it shows what happens when Republicans abrograte their responsibility to hold an honest debate — Barry’s claims have the field to themselves.

Me, I haven’t been paying close attention, but the consensus feels like “right of Souter.”
