The Herbert Hoover Legacy ProjectTitle: New Deal or Raw Deal?: How FDR’s Economic Legacy Has Damaged America

Author: Burton Folsom, Jr.

Rank: 23

Blurb: “In this shocking and groundbreaking new book, economic historian Burton W. Folsom exposes the idyllic legend of Franklin D. Roosevelt as a myth of epic proportions. With questionable moral character and a vendetta against the business elite, Roosevelt created New Deal programs marked by inconsistent planning, wasteful spending, and opportunity for political gain — ultimately elevating public opinion of his administration but falling flat in achieving the economic revitalization that America so desperately needed from the Great Depression.”

Review: “A must read for anyone who wants to understand how America came to revere socialism over a free market.”

Nuke Laboratory in Belfast Maine

Neonazi Nuke Laboratory in Belfast, Maine

James Cummings, a conservative-values voter and trust fund neonazi was wasted by his wife on December 9, apparently before he assembled a dirty nuke to begin his personal campaign to take back America from the communist takeover in November, disappointing but not dissuading the psychoconservative right that is bent on either restoring the theocratic dystopia the founding fathers intended or laying the nation to waste.

Cummings, apparently an abusive Hitler-loving conservative enjoyed tearing into his cowering wife, Amber, often while wearing a cowboy hat and a nifty, goth trench coat. Amber, not so keen on Republican politics and homelife conventions, got the fucking gun and blew Cummings the fuck away before she and her 9-year old daughter would have to spend enough Christmas with him. When the local cops got into the building, they found this conservative hero had stored enough radioactive materials to build a dirty bomb [Pg 11].

Little Johnny Boehner, age 6, throws a tantrum:

Rare photo of Eugene when not raining.

We may live in Sandy Eggo, but at heart we’ll always be an Expat Oregonian — or more specifically, an Expat Eugenean.

We were born there, after all, around the corner from the structure used as the exterior for Animal House. Lived there almost forty years. Our parents still live in the house where we moved in 1964.

We go back.

And so does Our Congressman, Peter DeFazio. He’s been representing midwestern Oregon since 1987, after working for his predecessor Jim Weaver and sitting for a term on the Lane County Board of Commissioners. He got his master’s from the University of Oregon the year we entered as a freshman. He may live next door in Springfield, but he’s as Typical Eugene as you get. Just like us.

With Valentine’s Day fast approaching, at least three zoos are offering adults-only events where you can catch all the hawt Tab A/Slot B/Horn C action.

Why the age exclusion, we don’t know, what with bestiality easily available on the Tubez, or for that matter, home demonstrations with Fido and Your Leg.

But let’s play along and start with Michigan’s Binder Park Zoo, which provides Zoorotica for your prurient pleasure, at only $50 per couple:

Experienced and unabashed staff will lead you on a tour exploring the sexual lives of animals. Biting, clawing, scratching and mid-air acrobatics, animals have a way of reproducing that can be beautiful and brutal at the same time! The love tour will end with hors d’oeuvres and a special DVD presentation.

And so the Senate roll call is open on the stimulus package.  As it has been for a few hours now.  59 yes votes so far.  The holdup is due to the fact that Sherrod Brown has to race back from Ohio to D.C.  From his mother’s wake.

Look — I know Rush would have someone over a barrel for this.  But would it have killed a GOP Senator from switching votes, out of some concern for a fellow Senator?  Simple: “You know, I don’t like this bill.  But there are bigger things going on here.  So out of respect to Sen. Brown, I will vote ‘aye,’ even though I believe that this bill is wrong, and officially say so for the record.”

Really.  Dude’s mom died.  Nobody could have sucked it up and given the 60th vote?  They really wanted to force him to fly back?

Oy.

They’ll never give up:

A Supreme Court decision apparently isn’t enough for Tennessee lawmakers in the House.

Despite the fact that the Court rejected an effort to contest President Barack Obama’s citizenship in a case earlier this year, four Tennessee lawmakers are still pushing a legal action to force the president to turn over his birth certificate and other documents to prove his citizenship.

I’d always assumed that Oklahoma’s congressional delegation was the stupidest – after all, it includes Senator Inhofe.  Now I’m not so sure.
