Inhofe Takes Early Lead in Grinch Sweepstakes

“U.S. Sen. Jim Inhofe said Tuesday that he won’t participate in Tulsa’s Holiday Parade of Lights until organizers put ‘Christ’ back in the event’s title. ‘Last year, the forces of political correctness removed the word “Christmas” and replaced it with “Holiday” instead,’ the Oklahoma Republican said. ‘I am deeply saddened and disappointed by this change.'” [Tulsa World]

Holy crap… really? Is that all it takes to drive Inhofe away? Wish we’d known sooner.

More beer, blow and hookers for Coburn, then.

If someone told him that saying the word “Christ” caused global warming I think he would spontaneously combust.

Oh, and the fact that this news comes on Night No. 1 of Menorapalooza is BESTEST. That’s a holiday that actually has lighting as a central theme.

(Actual name of Jewish holiday omitted on account of inability to spell. Sorry.)

Fun fact: Inhofe’s daughter-in-law is Jewish, as is his grandson. They go to Temple with my college roommate. The grandson went to Hebrew school with my godson.

@Dave H: Which, in and of itself, would contribute to the warming of the planet.

I like this plan. I’m honored to be a part of it. Let’s try it!

Actually the forces of political correctness in Oklahoma were pushing for the Sharia Law Festival of Hummus and Beheadings, so you’d think he’d be happy with the compromise…
